Sources List Generator for Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Ubuntu Server and other Ubuntu-based distros. It features the official Canonical one repositories as. Raspberry Pi Video Looper. UPDATE: I've updated the software and it should be much easier to install and use on any Raspberry PI. It does NOT have a GUI. Install Mplayer Debian Wheezy Install. There are times for system administrators they might have forgot their debian machine root password and they want to reset this password. Omxplayer is a video player specifically made for the Raspberry Pi's GPU made by Edgar (gimli) Hucek from the XBMC/Kodi project.
I was checking out the new jessie build and noticed there's a pretty big difference between the mplayer build available to both releases. With wheezy it looks like it's a custom build from mplayer's subversion repo and has a lot of handy video output types, for example listing all the output types (and getting its build version) shows:However if you install mplayer on jessie (with the mplayer2 package now) it doesn't have nearly as many video outputs:Code: Select all
I noticed because the fbdev and fbdev2 video output types aren't available with the jessie build. These video outputs are kind of handy for displays like the PiTFT or other fbtft displays that use /dev/fb devices. One workaround to play videos on those displays with both versions I found is to use the SDL video output (-vo sdl) and set SDL's environment variables (SDL_VIDEODRIVER=fbcon SDL_FBDEV=/dev/fb1 for example to use /dev/fb1). However I have a feeling there's a lot of stuff like codecs, etc. from the custom wheezy build that could be missing from the jessie build. I also noticed a recent thread too about audio issues that I bet is related to the difference in builds: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=122121&p=823216&hi .. ie#p823216
